How to Submit Announcements

Note: Please do not send Calendar Announcements to Time Warner cable, as this causes a significant delay in their delivery, which may cause the announcement to arrive too late to be placed on WCKN.

Calendar Guidelines

1. The announcement title should not exceed 16 characters. If your title is too long, we will edit or abbreviate it to fit on the slide.
2. The body of the message should be no more than 264 characters including spaces. If you provide an announcement that is significantly larger than this, it will be reduced to fit on one slide. In order to ensure that we include details that are most important to you and your organization, please edit your announcement down to the requested length prior to submission.
3. In order to ensure that your announcement is posted, please be sure to submit it at least two weeks prior to the event. Announcements submitted within two weeks of an event may not be processed in time for the event.
4. Please check your spelling and grammar. The extra time and effort required for editing announcements for spelling and grammar errors slows down our ability to process everyone's announcements. In order to help us maintain our level of efficiency, please make sure your submissions are free of errors.
5. This calendar is provided for non-profit use only. Our Community Calendar is designed to allow members of the community to announce public events to others in the surrounding area. Please do not submit commercial or private events, as we cannot post them on our calendar.
6. Please note that we do not accept announcements over the telephone. Announcements must be delivered in written form via mail, fax, or email.

Problems with Community Calendar

If you are having trouble submitting an announcement, or have submitted an announcement repeatedly, but have not seen it on WCKN, please feel free to call our office and inquire about its status.

However, please keep in mind that there are times throughout the year at which we may have well over 50 announcements rotating on our calendar. At these times it may take a very long time for the rotation to complete. If possible, attempt to observe an entire rotation to ensure your announcement is really missing, prior to contacting us.

From time to time announcements do slip through the cracks, both at WCKN and while in transit. Whether or not we have your announcement in our possession, we will do our best to address your problem in a timely fashion.
